Mattress manufacturer Eclipse International has signed a licensing agreement with Sumner, Washington-based Sound Sleep Products.
The new agreement gives Sound Sleep the rights to produce, market and distribute the Eclipse and Eastman House brands in six states.
The new licensee, founded in 1992, has two factories. One is in Oregon, and the other is in Washington state, a 117,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Sumner, where the vertically integrated company manufactures innersprings and cuts foam for the mattresses and box springs produced there.
“Sound Sleep’s commitment to quality and innovation, coupled with its impeccable customer service, make the company a perfect addition to the Eclipse family,” said Stuart Carlitz, CEO of Eclipse International. “The northwest is an important region for us, and Sound Sleep’s extensive dealer base puts them in a great position to ‘hit the ground running’ with these two brands.”
The licensing agreement covers the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, and Montana, as well as the panhandle region of northern Idaho.
“Our agreement with Eclipse positions us for rapid growth, and our dealer base is very excited about putting these brands on their sales floors,” said John Larsen, CEO of Sound Sleep.
“Eclipse’s success across multiple brands puts it in a unique position, and the company is poised to respond to the rapidly-changing bedding marketplace.”
The partnership with Sound Sleep comes on the heels of a record-setting 2018, when 19 new domestic and international licensing agreements were signed.
