Company C, the New Hampshire-based design and manufacturing company, announced its collaboration with artist and product designer Jill Seale through the introduction of new rugs for its Colorfields collection during the upcoming Las Vegas Market.
The rug designs are based on the art form of marbled paper which involves floating pigments and paints on water, and transferring those patterns onto paper. Catching the human eye for centuries, the art form has been updated and designed to be a modern centerpiece for the home.
“The collaboration with Jill Seale centers on great design and is underscored by our shared belief of living life colorfully, exploring new artistic endeavors, traveling the world for inspiration, and expressing oneself through interpretative design,” said Christine Chapin, co-founder and colorful living officer at Company C.
The rugs are machine made and digitally printed to keep the intricacy of the design intact as it is translated to textile form. The initial launch includes five designs: Caldera, Marble, Arctic Circle, Sea Mist and Rolling Sands.
“Our mutual zeal for color drew us together and I am privileged to be able to design for Company C using this classic art form of paper marbling,” said Seale. “After learning with the masters in Florence, Italy, I bring my own creative dialogue to this time-honored craft, carrying it into a new generation of homes and lives.
Market attendees are invited to attend live demonstrations that will be held in the Company C showroom, located in Building A, Space 225 during Market on Monday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. RSVP is not required. Limited edition silk hand scarves will be distributed to the first 150 attendees. Seale will showcase the marbling technique and speak to the audience while creating live works of art.
