Art Van Donates Mattresses to Local Fire Station

Art Van Furniture has announced it will donate and deliver 15 new Twin XL Serta mattresses to Fire Station 17 in Evansville, Ind., on Thursday, Dec. 27.

“Evansville residents depend on courageous firefighters for their safety, and we want to help ensure these brave public servants receive the best rest possible while serving the community,” said Mike McCord, franchise owner and CEO of Art Van Evansville. McCord is spearheading the Art Van PureSleep 911 initiative.

“Firefighters are subject to sleep deprivation while on duty and that can cause a number of issues from health risks to high risk decision making under stress,” said Fire Chief Mike Connelly of the Evansville Fire Department. “We are extremely grateful for this donation of mattresses from Art Van Evansville which will improve the quality of sleep they get and improve their health, wellness and safety on the incident scene. Simply put; it benefits the firefighter and the public.”

The 38,000 square foot Art Van Evansville showroom opened in July 2018 and is Art Van Furniture’s seventh store in Indiana.
