Brooklyn Bedding Unveils New High Performance Mattress

Mattress retailer and producer Brooklyn Bedding has added to its online storefront, introducing the Spartan by Brooklyn Bedding.

Spartan features Nanobionic technology, a high-tech patented coating on the mattress cover that transforms body heat into Far Infrared Rays—reflected back as invisible waves of energy. Far Infrared Rays are unique in their ability to penetrate, soothe and stimulate the human body, helping sleepers feel more energized and well rested.

Nanobionic products are registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as general wellness products. Used in support of "smart fabrics," the technology is based on the fundamental principle that heat can be converted to energy naturally.

The technology used in the Spartan by Brooklyn Bedding has been designed to temporarily promote increased blood flow at the site of application in healthy individuals, enhancing faster recovery and promoting restful sleep.

"Sleep is more than simply resting," said John Merwin, owner and CEO of Brooklyn Bedding. "Throughout the sleep cycle, your mind and body perform a number of functions that are critical to your health. That you're less active while you're asleep than when you're awake gives your body the chance to channel energy toward recharging and restoring. The Nanobionic technology in the Spartan contributes to what we call an active recovery process—harnessing what you produce (body heat) and recycling it into what you can use (energy) to rejuvenate."

The company’s new mattress combines Nanobionic with the advanced cooling technology of TitanCool, one of the many features also found in the Brooklyn Aurora, the brand's top selling mattress.

Like Nanobionic, the development of TitanCool was derived from sleep science—principally, that the average skin temperature is 91 degrees but the ideal skin temperature for sleep is 88 degrees. A phase change molecule (PCM) surface infusion in the Spartan moderates temperature through the use of cooling gel beads. These beads liquefy at higher temperatures to deliver cooling relief; they solidify at temperatures of 88 degrees and below to ensure an ideal sleep environment.

The mattress is constructed as a hybrid using a 1.5-inch top layer of patented CopperGel Energex foam, which combines responsive contouring with targeted pressure point relief and the highly conductive, anti-microbial properties of copper. A second 2-inch layer of hyper-elastic TitanFlex foam is added to provide more cloud-like comfort with immediate response technology that adjusts to your body each time you move. A third layer of 1-inch swirl visco-elastic memory foam provides enhanced contouring and deeper compression support with added cooling. 

Brooklyn Bedding pairs the trifecta of foam layers with an 8-inch base of up to 1,189 individually encased Quantum Edge coils to deliver ultimate pressure point relief while decreasing motion transfer. 

The Spartan by Brooklyn Bedding retails online between $1,399 for a twin to $2,399 for a California King. It is offered in three firmness levels, allowing sleepers to choose their desired support. All Brooklyn Bedding mattresses come with a free 120-night comfort trial and a 10-year warranty. The company also offers free nationwide shipping with bed-in-a-box delivery.
