Marge Carson’s Michael Delgaudio Dies Suddenly

Michael Delgaudio, creative director at luxury brand Marge Carson died suddenly on Nov. 10. A creative force at some of the greatest brands in the furniture industry and a veteran high-end visual merchandising executive, Delgaudio was 66.
“Michael was in a class by himself, in the top tier of design and merchandising talent in the furniture industry,” said Will Sharp, president of Marge Carson. “He had an incredible passion for the furniture industry and what furniture could do for a person’s home – how the home enriched the life of a family. Michael made a difference in this industry in ways too numerous to count. His reputation was impeccable, and he was gifted at mentoring, developing and inspiring young people professionally. His legacy is profound, and will live on in the companies where he made contributions, and in the many professionals he mentored.”
Sharp added that in the year that Delgaudio served as Marge Carson’s Creative Director, “His impact was immediate and positive, and will be long-lasting. He had great respect for the history of Marge Carson, and helped to return us to our roots in California Casual luxurious style.”
Prior to joining Marge Carson, Delgaudio was at Sherrill Furniture Companies as creative director for Hickory White. Previously, he served as vp and creative director for Henredon and as creative director at Century. He also had extensive experience in designer showroom and retail merchandising, previously serving as vp and creative Director for the 12-unit Beacon Hill Showroom network, and in design management for The Boyles Furniture Company.
Surviving are his wife Julie; step-children Kristen Patten and husband Austin of Denver; Zach Walters and wife Nadja of San Diego, as well as two sisters and a brother and 10 nieces and nephews.
