Latexco Expands, Relocates Western Production

Latex foam producer Latexco US has announced it will relocate and double its Western U.S. production center.

The brand-new 100,000-square-foot facility in Phoenix, Ariz., will produce polyurethane (PU) and latex foam, providing a significant increase in product assortment and service options to customers. The expansion includes new mattress and topper fabrication and fulfillment capabilities in response to customers’ growing demands and service needs.

The company’s western operation has been located in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., since 2006 and has served as a distribution and fabrication facility.

“Our expansion plans completed over the last year and continuing into the next represent an investment of $12 million to meet both the needs of our valued customers and the demand and opportunities we see on the horizon in our business segments,” said Ben Ducatteeuw, CEO.

The Phoenix facility will increase and improve PU foam and latex production and offer fully automated mattress assembly. Latexco officials expect to complete construction and relocation for operational capabilities in the first quarter of 2019.

“We guarantee our customers that during this transition period production will continue to run smoothly and that we will gradually transform the new building into a one-stop shop,” said Jim Gutierrez, general manager of Latexco West.

The move in the West follows a completed expansion with the Eastern facility at the company’s headquarters in Lavonia, Ga., which doubled its square-footage and tripled production capacity for both foam and latex.

This phase included the installation of Latexco’s newly branded Pulse latex line produced with the patented SonoCore process which uses radio frequency technology and dielectric heating instead of conventional steam heating and drying for significant energy reduction and eco-friendly manufacturing.

“We’re immensely proud of our team and their dedication to providing our valued customers uninterrupted quality service as we implement our growth strategies, and we hope that the investments we’re making demonstrate our commitment to both our internal and external customers,” said Ducatteeuw.
