Mattress producer Kingsdown has announced the revamp of its Vintage Collection, focusing on luxury mattress offerings for its High Point showroom.
With retail pricing set to begin at the $2,999 mark, the company’s offering was created to provide retailers with an aspirational collection of six mattresses handcrafted with luxurious materials.
The natural fibers, which include cotton, Joma wool, horsehair and alpaca, are combined with upper-end cushioning materials such as latex, a high coil-count innerspring unit, and craftsmanship and design to create a lineup of sleep sets that retail for $2,999 to $7,999.
“We’re seeing a significant increase in consumers looking for luxury items in all segments of consumer goods, and bedding is no different. Consumers are looking for a premium sleep experience, and Vintage provides a luxury place to recover from the stresses of the day,” said Frank Hood, president and CEO. “The collection’s success has sparked us to grow Vintage’s offerings.”
All six models include Joma wool and gel-infused latex in the tufted quilt, and five of the six include a layer of Joma wool cushioning in the upholstery. In addition, four models feature horsehair, three include alpaca fleece, and all have cotton. The natural fiber cushioning layers are combined with latex, and in some models, a layer of micro-coils, to cap off the luxurious components. In addition, the collection features Kingsdown’s Silent Partner construction, a 2,000-count, wrapped coil unit with an undetectable divider to lessen partner disturbance.
“We have used some of the finest natural materials available, and when they are combined with luxurious blends of latex, it delivers a luxury product that provides a great night’s sleep at great value,” said Hood. “They are positioned at the heart of the luxury market.”
Mattresses in the Vintage Collection are dressed in covers embroidered with apparel-inspired paisley designs for a distinguishing look that stands out on retail showroom floors.
The new collection will be shown in the Kingsdown showroom, M-528 in the International Home Furnishings Center.
