Bob’s Promotes 2 Seasoned Executives

John Weldon, former EVP of operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer.  After serving as SVP of merchandising for over five years, Carol Glaser has been named EVP of merchandising. 

Weldon joined the company in 2013 as SVP of stores, and was later promoted to EVP of sales and operations.  In his new role as COO, Weldon will oversee DC operations, store operations, the supply chain and customer care.  With a vast career spanning over twenty years, Weldon has previously held executive roles at various specialty retailers, where he was responsible for overall store growth.

Glaser first joined the company in 2008 as divisional merchandise manager and most recently held the position of SVP/general merchandise manager. Throughout her tenure at Bob’s Discount Furniture, she has played a critical role in the evolution and development of the merchandising team, product assortment and procurement processes.  As EVP, she will continue to lead the team that designs, sources, and selects product offerings, assuring that each item is of high quality and that all sources comply with the company’s social and environmental standards. In addition, Glaser’s team is responsible for ordering and flowing inventory.
