Former IHFRA President Stan Tremewan Dies

40-year furniture industry veteran, Stan Tremewan, passed away on Sept. 30. Tremewan was a leader and mentor to dozens of manufacturer representatives over his career. He is remembered for the dignity and knowledge he brought to the profession.

Tremewan was a member of IHFRA since 1972. He graduated from the first CHR course in 1985 and became Board Chairman of CHR from 1991-1995. He was president of IHFRA in 1987-1998, and was instrumental in moving the IHFRA office from Chicago to High Point. Education and professionalism were of the utmost importance to him. He was always looking to elevate the work of the reps, to educate buyers and colleagues, and to cover his territories in the most skilled way possible.

Tremewan held a private pilot license and was a lifelong member of AOPA. He continued to work his territory in Northern and Southern California, Northern Nevada and Hawaii until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Donna, their two children, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
