Bannon Joins Tiger Group, Director of Furniture Solutions

Furniture industry veteran Mark Bannon has joined Tiger Group, a provider of asset valuation, advisory and disposition services, as the firm’s director of furniture solutions.

In the newly created position, Bannon will direct new business development and strategic client relations within Tiger’s retail and wholesale turnaround and asset disposition operations, focusing on the home furnishings industry.

He brings over 30 years of experience in all aspects of the home furnishings industry, including retail operations, furniture liquidations and acquisition negotiations. From 2015 to 2018, Bannon served as CEO of International Retail Group, a provider of consulting services and products to the furniture and rug industries. In that role he directed deal negotiations, as well as corporate and field operations, for numerous home furnishings clients throughout North America.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2015, Bannon was president and managing partner of Boyles Brand Acquisition, LLC. During that time, he spearheaded the acquisition of the intellectual property rights of the high-end Boyles furniture brand by the partners of Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP).  Bannon previously spent over 20 years at PFP, where as a partner and SVP he directed the execution of deal structures and negotiations, retail sales and merchandising for hundreds of furniture industry clients.

Over the course of his career, Bannon’s clients have included ABC Carpet & Home, American Home, Gorman’s Home Furnishings, Hitchcock Furniture, Kittle’s Furniture, Levitz, Oskar Huber, Mastercraft Interiors, Rhodes, Room Store and Wickes.

“Mark comes with impeccable credentials to fill this important new role” said Michael McGrail, chief operating officer of Tiger.  “His extensive experience will be invaluable as we look to expand our work in the home furnishings sector beyond asset appraisals and dispositions to include turnarounds and workouts.”
