The professional design tool will help customers visualize and decorate their dream space with ease. Customers can use the online Room Planner to create single room or multi-room floor plans, browse product assortments across multiple brands, and drag and drop photo-realistic products to shop for their home with accuracy and confidence.
“We understand the challenges our customers face when shopping for furniture. If you’re in a store it’s hard to visualize a sofa in your own home. If you are shopping online, it’s hard to imagine texture or scale,” said Laura Alber, president and CEO, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. “With the Room Planner tool, we are able to create photo-realistic, interactive experiences spanning the entire customer journey, starting from inspirational lifestyle and product imagery all the way to fully realized room designs.”
“We are constantly working on new ways to improve customer service and this tool is one example of how we will be using technology to enhance the shopping experience across our brands,” added Alber.
Room Planner is powered by Outward, Inc., a 3D-imaging and augmented reality platform acquired by WSI in 2017. Built off of Outward's proprietary 3D asset platform, Room Planner enables product discovery across multiple WSI brands, customized product visualization, and room planning. Customers can also store multiple projects in their online portfolio and generate floor plans and product lists that can be viewed and shared separately from the online tool.
Room Planner is currently available on Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Williams Sonoma Home e-commerce websites, with integration of additional brands in the WSI portfolio over the coming months. Customers can schedule a live demonstration of Room Planner with a member of the Design Crew team at any of the West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Williams Sonoma Home retail locations.
