Modern Bedding Association Opposes Anti-Dumping Case

The Modern Bedding Association (MBA) has announced its opposition to the anti-dumping case brought by domestic mattress producers Corsicana Mattress Company, Elite Comfort Solutions, Future Foam Inc., FXI, Inc., Innocor, Inc., Kolcraft Enterprises Inc., Leggett & Platt, Incorporated, Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC, and Tempur Sealy International, Inc.

MBA was created to promote the continued development of the global bedding market and highlight the positive contribution its members are providing through investment in innovative products and advanced manufacturing processes to benefit the American consumer.

The association believes the petition badly mischaracterizes the mattress business and makes unfounded allegations of injurious dumping. Members intend to mount a vigorous defense as U.S. agencies investigate the petition’s claims.

The MBA believes the case is nothing more than an attempt to pile more tariffs on top of those just announced for mattresses and a wide range of other bedding and consumer products and additional tariffs would be both bad for the mattress industry and American consumers who would face an even larger “bed tax.”  MBA will continue to fight against efforts that would harm consumers and stifle the healthy evolution of the global bedding market.
