R. Byron Brown Joins Tipperary Sales, La-Z-Boy Dealer

Family-owned Tipperary Sales, a La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & Décor Dealer, has hired R. Byron Brown IV as SVP of Business Development. The company also acknowledges Brown as a shareholder.

"I am delighted to have Byron join our team," said Martha Percival Brown, president and CEO. "Byron is of the highest integrity, possessing a strong work ethic and a comprehensive understanding of the retail-client relationship. His skillset is enhanced by twenty years of experience as a commercial real estate broker and developer, which afforded him financial and operations expertise encompassing various business models."

A graduate of the Wayne Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University, Byron Brown is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia, S.C., and N.C., specializing in retail tenant representation, buyer representation, and land development with transaction experience totaling more than $130 million in value. For the past 18 years, Brown represented Tipperary Sales as one of his clients in a variety of real estate transactions. As the grandson and namesake of Tipperary Sales' founder, Byron Brown brings a lifetime of family knowledge to the business.

"Byron's vast understanding, unique historical perspective, and vested interest in the business will position Tipperary Sales for the next phase of our growth-plan," continued Martha Percival Brown. "His commencement with Tipperary is a commitment to the legacy and future of our company."

Byron Brown's position, which will be based out of the company's Charlotte office, will include a specific focus on growing earnings through team member education and empowerment, bolstering best practices, as well as increasing revenue through existing store enhancements and new store roll-outs. In addition to the revenue side, Byron will also be tasked with a deep review of overall company expenditures and improving corporate efficiencies.

"After many years working with the company, I'm humbled by the opportunity to serve Tipperary Sales in this new internal role," said Byron Brown. "It's an honor to join a team including my family and other talented professionals."

Prior to joining Tipperary Sales, Byron Brown worked with The Keith Corporation followed by Collett & Associates. Most recently, he served as founding partner and broker-in-charge for Charlotte-based Caliber Partners where he successfully forged strong business relationships while negotiating detailed and large-scaled transactions throughout the Southeast.
