HFA 2018 ROTY Nominees, Winners Announced at LV Market

The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) has announced the nominees for its 2018 Retailer of the Year awards, which honor outstanding retailers who represent exceptional examples of philanthropy, technology, customer experience, mentoring, sustainability and store design/merchandising.

Candidates are considered in two categories—sales volume under $10 million and sales volume $10 million or above.

A selection committee, comprised of HFA members, manufacturers, service providers/suppliers, independent sales reps, and industry officials and media, will review the nominations. Winners will be announced during a press conference Sunday, July 29, at 11 a.m. in the Retailer Resource Center (B1050) during the Las Vegas Market.

The HFA will also recognize an Emerging Star and Trailblazer, which recognize retailers who’ve successfully jumped into the industry with both feet and those who’ve made a career out of forging new roads, respectively.

All awards will be presented during the Retailer of the Year Celebration on Sept. 15 at the HFA’s Insights 2018 Conference in Minneapolis.

For stores with sales under $10 million, nominees are Flamingo Furniture, Brooklyn, NY; Design Elements, Jacksonville, FL; Aladdin Home Store, Marble Falls, TX; Sklar Furnishings, Boca Raton, FL; Super Nova Furniture, Houston, TX; and Colfax Furniture, Greensboro, NC.

For stores with sales of more than $10 million, nominees are: W.S. Badcock Corporation, Mulberry, FL; Exclusive Furniture, Houston, TX; The Furniture Warehouse, Sarasota, FL; HOM Furniture, Coon Rapids, MN; and Circle Furniture, Acton, MA.

Nominated for the Trailblazer Awards are Hoot Judkins Furniture, Redwood City, CA; Danto Furniture, Detroit, MI; and White House Designs for Life, Fairfield, NJ.

Nominees for the Emerging Star Awards are Down East Home, Salt Lake City, UT; and Habitation Furnishings + Design, Minneapolis, MN.

“We’re excited to have so many great retailers nominated for these awards,” said Sharron Bradley, CEO of HFA. “Retailers do so much for their communities, their employees and their Association and the industry. We look forward to celebrating them!”

The Home Furnishings Association’s Retailer of the Year awards are made possible by sponsorships from Coaster Home Furnishings, Emerald Home Furnishings and Furniture of America.
