Baker, Laura Kirar Partner for New Collection
Luxury furnishings manufacturer and designer Baker has introduced new furniture, upholstery, and accessories by designer Laura Kirar.
The new 28-piece Laura Kirar Collection for Baker, which includes new mirrors, occasional tables, sofas, and armchairs, was presented at the Spring 2018 Market in High Point, N.C.
The new group is Kirar’s fourth collection for Baker. It was designed and planned in collaboration with Baker's craftsmen and artisans, and features handcrafted details and complex new silhouettes.
Kirar first made a debut in her partnership with Baker in 2006, again in 2010, and in 2014.
At the heart of each collection are designs informed by Kirar’s research into design and style history, as well as her background in fine arts and crafts. Now her immersion in Mexican culture, design, and pre-Columbian architecture are influencing her collections.
“The Laura Kirar Collection for Baker Furniture, her fourth, represents the height of Laura’s creativity and the evolution of her vision for the company,” said Russell Towner, president. “Laura Kirar continues to bring glamour and luxury to the Baker brand, infusing it with exotic influences from her world travels. She enriches her work with a sense of design history, but always with a distinctly modern stance. We’re extremely delighted to work with Laura as she explores new realms of design. Her vivid imagination taps the spirit of our times, where a convergence of cultural influences is the ‘new luxury.’”
