HFB Bestows Honorary Forty Under 40 Induction to Drew and Jonathan Scott

Home Furnishings Business (HFB), the strategy magazine for the furniture industry, is pleased to announce that  Drew and Jonathan Scott, entrepreneurs, TV personalities, best-selling authors and co-founders of Scott Brothers Global, have been named honorary inductees into HFB’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2018.

Each year, an outstanding group of under 40s are nominated by their peers to be selected as honorees for the Forty Under 40. The purpose is to call attention to the best and brightest up and comers, corporate champions and trailblazers in the industry. The mission is to recognize and celebrate the spirit inherent in these young movers and shakers as they help position themselves and their companies for a successful future.

"This is the first time an honorary induction has been awarded by the magazine" said Bob George, publisher and editor in chief of HFB. "The Scott Brothers are outstanding young individuals who have significantly championed the mission of the Forty Under 40, which is to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements and philanthropic service of the youth in our industry.”

The brothers have enjoyed tremendous success in the home furnishings space, which speaks to the fact that the under 40s can and do grow the industry in new and exciting ways. "It is achievements like theirs and the rest of the Class of 2018 that help forward the progress of the industry and we’re proud to be a part of that," George continued.

“We are truly thrilled to accept this honorary induction from Home Furnishings Business Magazine” said Drew. “Getting involved with home furnishings and décor was a natural extension of our core business and we are so grateful that the industry has embraced us the way they have.” Jonathan added, "It’s really meaningful to us to be a part of the Forty Under 40 alongside other trailblazers in the industry. Creating Scott Living and watching it grow and expand into such a reputable and recognized brand has been truly exciting.”

The brothers, who turned 40 in April, have taken the industry by storm with multiple licensed collections, including an indoor furniture program with Coaster Company of America. The indoor furniture line includes collections of bedroom, dining room, upholstery and accent furniture that started with 300 SKUs, and grew to more than 650 SKUs in just one year.

In 2017, the Scott Brothers, also known as HGTV’s Property Brothers, were selected as Habitat for Humanity’s "Habitat Humanitarians" in recognition of their dedication to the non-profits' vision. They joined the ranks of President Jimmy Carter, former first lady Rosalynn Carter and country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood as special volunteers to help raise awareness of the need for decent, affordable shelter in the United States and around the world.

Together, the brothers have created a rising global lifestyle brand through the creation of Scott Living, a collection of home goods including indoor furniture, décor, textiles and bedding that will continue to expand in 2019. The brothers' goal is to develop aspirational yet attainable collections of home goods across multiple categories, creating whole-home solutions for consumers.

“We’re passionate about engaging customers and delivering a meaningful assortment of product just like the rest of the impressive list of Under 40s. When you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work and after reading some of the profiles, I can see that the bar is high,” said Drew.

"This is HFB's fifth year producing the Forty Under 40 and we can’t think of a better way to toast the program and the Class of 2018 than with an honorary induction that champions the industry," said Jason Schneider, associate editor, HFB. "These up and comers will undoubtedly become the next generation of leaders in the not too distant future and we feel proud to recognize their achievements.”

The magazine will honor the Class of 2018 in its July issue and will showcase a slideshow on the hfbusiness.com website. The honorees will also be lauded at a reception during the High Point Fall Market in October.

The program is in its fifth year and is sponsored by Storis, a leading provider of Retail Software Solutions.
