King Koil Unveils New Arizona Plant

Local civic and business leaders joined with King Koil executives recently to unveil its newly opened facility in Avondale, Ariz.

The 90,000-square-foot building and 50 employees are the linchpin for King Koil’s new domestic manufacturing business model and is producing product to serve the company’s Western retail partners.

“This is an exciting day for King Koil—our own plant with our people producing high-quality products for our consumers. It is part of our historic transformation into a direct-to-retail strategy that we kicked off at the Winter Las Vegas Furniture Market only a few months ago,” said David Binke, CEO.

“I am grateful to our leadership team and employees for all their hard work in getting this plant ready and operational. I am also thankful to the mayor and all the city officials of Avondale who have welcomed us with open arms since we decided to open a plant here. We look forward to playing an important role in this terrific community,” he added.

As a part of their community involvement, Binke announced King Koil will donate 14 new mattresses to outfit two Avondale fire stations.

The local King Koil plant will serve retail partners in 17 states: Arizona, Arkansas, Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

In addition to manufacturing, the new facility houses offices for management and customer service, as well as an audio-visual conference room that connects King Koil’s offices around the country for meetings. A 2,500-square-foot showroom is also located in the facility and provides presentation space for the company’s national product line.

King Koil announced plans earlier this year to shift its domestic business model from a licensing structure to a direct-to-retail manufacturing strategy. As part of the change, the company formed a strategic partnership with long-time licensee Blue Bell Mattress that will continue to service King Koil retail partners in the East and Midwest with the company’s product.
