Lee Boone, former SLF president, was named co-president of Home Meridian along with Doug Townsend in the restructuring following the announced retirement of George Revington.
“We are very pleased to have an executive of Scott’s caliber join the Home Meridian leadership team,” said Boone. “Scott has held several formative executive positions in the industry and is uniquely qualified to lead SLF. Moreover, having known and worked directly with Scott earlier in our careers, I know Scott has the temperament, drive, and vision to fit the HMI fast-moving culture.”
Most recently, Smith served as executive vice president of Vanguard Furniture and prior to that was president and CEO of Caracole Furniture, where he oversaw the merchandising, sales, and marketing of the company.
“I feel fortunate and honored to join a company with the proven success of Home Meridian and the entire Hooker Furniture organization,” said Smith. “I am excited at the opportunity to join such a talented group of people and lead the SLF business unit.”
Smith will be based in Home Meridian’s corporate office in High Point, N.C., and will report to Boone. He joins Page Wilson (Pulaski Furniture), Bo Morrison (Prime Resources), Kevin Walker (Accentrics Home), and Rick Evans (Samuel Lawrence Hospitality) in the roles of president of Home Meridian’s business units.
