Ashley HomeStore Opens 2 New Stores

Furniture retailer Ashley HomeStore celebrated the openings of two new stores, widening its reach to Staten Island, N.Y., and Woodhaven, Mich.

Opened on April 21, the Staten Island, N.Y., store is owned and operated by Abdul Ayyad, who owns a total of 18 additional Ashley HomeStores in the surrounding region. This is the 26th Ashley HomeStore in the state of New York.

The 35,000-square-foot showroom, located on 2845 Richmond Ave. in the Richmond Shopping Center, will employ approximately 150 people.

“The response leading up to this event has been tremendous. We’re proud to serve the Staten Island community as the number one furniture store brand. We look forward to earning our customer’s loyalty and trust and promoting the Ashley brand,” said Ayyad.

The grand opening celebration included $25,000 in furniture giveaways and a chance to scratch, match, and win $50,000 cash.

The Woodhaven, Mich., location celebrated a soft opening on May 11 and the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m.

The new store is owned and operated by Zahi Abdelaziz, who also owns the Ashley HomeStore Westland. This is the second of 14 planned stores for the Aziz Group in the Southeast Michigan market.

“We are honored to bring Ashley HomeStore to Woodhaven. This new store allows us to be closer to our customers and provide a world‐class experience to our guests,“ said Scott Patrick, executive vice president of sales.

“Ashley HomeStore is a brand name that people have come to trust. This trust has led to its growth into the number one selling furniture store brand in the world,” added Patrick.

Located at 19820 West Rd., the 35,000-square-foot Woodhaven showroom will have an estimated 35 employees.

Joe Satterfield, store manager, stated, “I’m honored and thrilled to be a part of the rapidly growing Aziz Group and Ashley HomeStore. This is very special to me, especially because I have memories as a kid shopping at the old K‐mart that was in this very location. I look forward to partnering with the City of Woodhaven and being a staple in the community for many years to come.”

Both new showrooms feature complete lifestyle vignettes, down to the final detail of lighting, rugs and wall art. Product categories include bedroom, dining room, upholstery, leather, occasional tables, home office, youth bedroom, recliners, mattresses, and accessories.
