Mack Named Star Furniture’s Senior Case Goods Buyer

Star Furniture, a Houston-based Berkshire Hathaway furniture division retailer, said industry veteran Robin Mack has been named to the position of senior case goods buyer.
In her new position, Mack will work with Alan Kramer, Star’s vice president of merchandising, to drive Star’s growth.
“We are excited to have Robin join our team,” said Kramer. “Her reputation as one of the best buyers in her category will enable Star Furniture to take our programs to the next level.”
Mack comes to Star from Art Van Furniture, where she was a buyer for occasional, entertainment, home office, and outdoor patio categories since 2010. Prior to that, she was a buyer for “hard home” categories for a catalog company in New Jersey.
Earlier in her career in New Jersey, Robin was a buyer for occasional entertainment and home office at Stern’s Department Store.
Mack will focus on all aspects of the bedroom and dining categories with attention to maximizing the assortment while Star broadens its customer base. Along with Kramer and Star’s merchandising department, she will work with vendors and internal staff to ensure successful execution and growth.
