York Wallcoverings Taps Brian Golden for Executive Post
York Wallcoverings one of the oldest and largest wallcovering manufacturers has named Brian Golden as CEO. He will be responsible for driving continued growth and for charting York’s strategic direction as it approaches its 125-year anniversary in 2020.
Golden will assume full responsibility for York’s global business and is charged with expanding the company’s leadership position and further enhancing its products and designs in over 85 countries.
“I’ve long admired York Wallcoverings and am thrilled to join the team,” said Golden. “The company has a well-earned reputation for exceptional design, distinctive products and stellar customer service over the years. It will be a privilege for me to continue to leverage York’s extensive manufacturing capabilities and breadth of commercial and residential products – 99% of which are made at York’s 1895 factory headquarters - that firmly establish York as America’s premier wallcovering producer and a worldwide leader in the industry.”
A Pennsylvania native and Villanova University graduate with an MBA from Loyola University and a JD degree from Fordham Law School, Golden has spent his career serving the residential and commercial markets, with extensive experience with the A&D community.
Golden joins York from Greenville, S.C.-based Hubbell Lighting, where he oversaw the Commercial Lighting Division. He was previously CEO of Litecontrol, a Massachusetts-based architectural lighting company. He also spent 14 years at USG Corporation where he successfully held a steady progression of sales, marketing and management roles.
“Brian is a proven leader with a passion for new ideas that are executed with distinction,” said Jeffrey Goodrich, chairman of York’s Board. “He is an astute executive who will bring strong leadership to our global company, expansive creativity to our wallcovering and RoomMates wall décor businesses and positive energy to the talented team we’ve built at York.”
