Fairfield Announces Exclusive Partnership with Lily Koi

Upholstery resource Fairfield is collaborating with Lily Koi Upholstery Textiles to introduce an exclusive line at the High Point Market later this week.

Inspired by one-of-a-kind vintage finds, Lily Koi is a handmade and hand-dyed collection of textiles from Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand.

“We were immediately drawn to the story and detail that Lily Koi embodies in all of its designs,” said Dixon Mitchell, Fairfield’s president and COO. “We feel that this collection will add depth and newfound character to the Fairfield name.”

Through travel and exploration, Lily Koi sources its fabrics from local craftsmen in small villages. The hemp, cotton, silk and indigo plants are farmed and grown locally in those villages and are then dried, spun and woven. The vintage finds are combined with new textiles to create fabrics that incorporate ethnic heritage with modern design.

“Fairfield is my ideal partner due to the standout quality of their workmanship and proactive approach to protecting the environment,” said Jan Mirkin-Earley, creative director and founder of Lily Koi. “After five years of working exclusively with vintage textiles, it’s been a dream of mine to take my favorite moments from my vintage collection and reimagining them to create unique designs for upholstery and soft goods.”

Mirkin-Early continued, “Together we are producing on 100% certified organic cotton to replicate the tactile hand of the original textiles. It’s truly an honor to work with Fairfield, a company with history, integrity and vision.”
