The Rug Show is a non-profit industry association of producers, importers, and wholesalers whose aim is to work together to promote and expand the rug industry. Obeetee will showcase hand-knotted rugs, including the Cara Collection and its design called "Tartan A".
The Obeetee Express quick-ship program, which offers hand-tufted carpets with a two-week lead time for strike-offs after rendering approval and a six- to eight-week production time for most sizes, will also be featured.
There are hundreds of designs from which to choose on www.obeetee.com/obtExpress.aspx, and customers can also submit their own designs. The website allows customers to select from 194 stocked colors in 100 percent New Zealand wool to develop their own carpet colorations.
The site also lets them view the rugs in various room settings and print or email samples to clients. Other hues from Obeetee's bank of more than 4,000 colors and additional fibers like silk, viscose, nylon, and cotton are possible with a customized lead time.
In addition to the booth, Vimal Kumar, vice president, is participating in a CEU on fair trade and social accountability in the design industry in the Lecture Room, Top Floor Suites at Market Square on Tuesday, April 17 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Gretchen Auer, sales manager, will also present a CEU on custom rug design on the same day, from 10-11 a.m.
Registration is required for both CEUs: www.therugshow.com.
"Obeetee is very pleased to make our High Point debut at The Rug Show,” said Auer. “We hope it will be a great venue to engage potential dealers and interior designers. We are also excited participate in the panel discussion on fair trade and social accountability and to offer our CEU on custom rugs."
