A.R.T. Furniture Offers 73-piece Summer Creek Collection

Inspired by the architecture of America’s cottages, bungalows, and riverside homes, A.R.T. Furniture’s Summer Creek collection offers a fresh take on the “new traditional” category.

“A.R.T. Furniture has already established its position in the new traditional category with the Arch. Salvage and American Chapter collections,” said Jeff Cook, CEO. “Country can mean so many things to so many regions. We wanted to design a well-researched group that incorporated elements from hill country, low country, lake, and shore lifestyles. It’s a style that touches the most elemental of heartstrings, the pleasure of a relaxed sanctuary. “

The 73-piece Summer Creek collection includes bedroom, dining room, living room, upholstery, entertainment, office, and outdoor. The predominant material is scrubbed oak in an open-grained sun-washed stain with light cerusing and bold distressing. The oak is complemented with painted accent pieces in Scrubbed Oak, Harbor White and Hale.

The whole collection is detailed with elements borrowed from architecture and traditional furniture. Dining chair backs are clad in ship lapping, for instance, a technique seen in cottage architecture; headboards are stick built in the traditional manner; throughout the collection, geometric overlays recall porch railings and garden gates.

“Every room in Summer Creek stands on its own, but the whole collection flows together through a repetition of scale, textures, finishes, and interesting design elements,” said Cook.  “Summer Creek continues a conversation we began with Arch. Salvage and American Chapter. We believe that this is a lifestyle that is important to continue addressing.”
