Najarian Returns to Upholstery Category

Najarian Returns to Upholstery Category California-based Najarian Furniture will re-enter the upholstery category after a seven-year absence with a new upholstery line that will be introduced during this month’s High Point Spring Market.

The company, who manufactured upholstery for over twenty-five years, was known for their domestically manufactured, wood exposed upholstery and occasional chairs.

Since leaving the category, company President, Mike Najarian, said the company has been looking for ways of competitively re-entering the category, while upholding Najarian’s fashion conscience, and quality standards.

“We were known throughout the industry for our wood-exposed upholstery for many years. It was a strong segment for us, yet when manufacturing by so many was taken overseas, we lost our competitive advantage,” said Najarian.

“We chose to, at the time, focus our efforts on our growing casegoods business. Due to our company’s philosophy of presenting innovative, quality and tremendous value to the home furnishings marketplace, the recognized void of affordable, fashion-forward wood exposed upholstery, as well as retailer demand, the time is right for us to reenter the category.”

The company will introduce eight fully upholstered sofas, eight exposed wood sofas, and two sectionals all with coordinating loveseats and chairs. Six wood exposed accent chairs will round-out the line.

The urban inspired, fully upholstered frames cover an array of lifestyles and are suited for the more style and cost conscious millennial shopper, according to the company. The wood exposed frames will complement a city apartment or a sprawling estate, from more modern to classic and casual.

Characteristics of construction include sinuous wire springs, comfort and resiliency firm seat cushion, plump-crowned cushion, and hardwoods.

All products will be manufactured overseas, with the wood-exposed frames available in a mixed container quick ship program. All upholstery will also be stocked in the company’s Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., warehouse enabling quick shipping nationwide.

Retail price points for fully upholstered sofas, begins at $499 and $999 for sofas featuring exposed wood. There is no minimum, and lead-time for direct containers is forty-five days.

Najarian Furniture’s new showroom is located at 113 West Green Drive, in High Point.
