Italian Furniture Supplier ConArte America has announced its union with New York designer David Santiago to bring his Strictly Santi brand to market to create a new collection of home furnishings titled Bel Canto.
The partnership will be announced at the High Point Spring Market at a gala on Saturday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. in their showroom at 827 W. Green Drive. The event will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and an operatic performance by the designer himself, who is an accomplished operatic tenor.
“We are excited to start a new chapter with David Santiago who is a super-talented designer and New York opera singer,” commented Olga Terentieva, ConArte’s vice president. “He is one of a kind! Working with someone who knows the designer’s world from the inside out is very important for ConArte, as we seek to partner with luxury interior designers and high-end retailers.”
Terentieva continued, “We believe this partnership will continue the integrity of bringing the beauty of nature and the story of classic traditions of Italian craftsmanship to homes across America.”
Speaking about the partnership, Santiago said. “It is a privilege to call upon my talents and years of experience to design an original collection crafted of solid woods, metals, and painted finishes. Appropriately named ‘Bel Canto,’ it incorporates virtually my careers as a furniture designer and an opera singer.”
“This is truly a collaboration between manufacturer and designer,” said Santiago. “The collection will marry a lyrical and intercontinental range of flavor, where tradition meets artistic styling and the shores of Italy and the United States collide.”
Con Arte, which means "with art" in Italian, is a brand line by Minick Wood Products.
