Hooker Adds 40 Pieces to One-of-a-Kind Collection

Hooker Furniture will add 40 pieces to its Melange collection at the Spring High Point Market, April 14 – 18. The collection of one-of-a-kind artistic accent pieces blends colors, textures and materials to create an assortment of designs, inspired by five of today’s popular micro trends, including Weathered Luxe, Rich Wood, Belgian Chic, Glam and Mixed Materials.

“We are approaching Melange with a new strategy this Market by merchandising the new pieces in five different stories in our showroom,” said Steve Lush, president of Hooker case goods.

“Each story portrays the different micro trends we have identified in the marketplace that have become very popular in interior home design,” Lush said.

Inspired by a rustic, coastal vibe, the Weathered Luxe trend includes pieces in natural wood tones and weathered gray finishes. Distinctive materials include faux horn accents and oil rubbed bronze metallic details.

The Rich Wood story is characterized by traditional dark and rich wood tones that are applied to modern and contemporary forms. The dark woods are combined with brass and champagne accents to create a sophisticated look.

Belgian Chic is inspired by the lifestyle trend of Wabi Sabi – the art of living with imperfection. Pieces in this category are designed with rustic finishes, unique materials and textures, all of which combine to create a cozy and organic feel. Finishes and materials include rustic grays, dark charcoal, textured concrete, white plaster and carved stone.

Refined and sophisticated, the Glam story features high sheen finishes on transitional forms paired with bright metallic accents. Finishes and materials include fumed eucalyptus, highly figured anigre veneers, gold and silver leaf accents as well as a variety of unique stones.

The Mixed Materials story features unique elements including metal, stone, concrete, acrylic and glass, each of which is used in unexpected ways to create one-of-a-kind artistic pieces.
