Lee Ann Womack, Con Brio Slated for High Point Market Concerts
Country music singer/songwriter Lee Ann Womack will headline the “Stars Under the Stars” concert series at next month’s High Point Market.
Womack, whose list of honors includes a Grammy Award and six Country Music Association awards, will appear Sunday, April 15 at Center Stage, which is located between Showplace and the Transportation Terminal.
Womack has six albums and a number of chart-topping singles to her credit, and she also has earned five Academy of Country Music awards.
The night before Womack’s appearance, the hard-charging folk/soul band Con Brio will take Center Stage. With a sound that has been likened to music legends Michael Jackson, James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone, the group’s energetic performances typically inspire concert-goers to dance.
“We don’t want to walk. We don’t want to drive,” said Con Brio frontman Ziek McCarter. “We want to fly.”
Doors for both events open at 7 p.m. Early entry for market attendees who have been issued a buyer’s pass begins at 6:45 p.m. Complimentary food and drinks are available to attendees with a valid Spring Market pass and photo ID. No one under age 15 will be admitted.
