Schneider Named Associate Editor of Home Furnishings Business

Schneider, who has been editor of Southern Trade Publications, a regional trade magazine based in Greensboro, N.C., since September, will join HFB on April 2.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in publishing, writing, editing and marketing for the health care and furniture industries. He also co-founded the Denton Orator, a weekly newspaper in Denton, N.C., and was the paper’s editor in the late 1990s.

Schneider’s background includes 14 years as managing editor at the specialty division of StayWell, a patient health engagement and education firm. He also was associate editor at BedTimes and Sleep Savvy, two magazines published by the International Sleep Products Association.

“Jason’s impressive background in writing, editing and marketing will be a tremendous asset to our magazine as we move forward,” said Bob George, editor and publisher of Home Furnishings Business. “We are fortunate to be able to add such a talented individual to our staff.”

Larry Thomas, HFB’s senior business editor since August 2016, is leaving the magazine to accept a position with the High Point, N.C., office of Steinreich Communications, a New York-based public relations firm whose client list includes numerous furniture and mattress producers.
