Retail Veteran Stoltz Joins Jackson/Catnapper

Furniture retail veteran Gene Stoltz has joined upholstery producer Jackson/Catnapper in the newly created position of senior vice president of dealer relations.

Stoltz most recently was president and chief merchandising officer for Wolf Furniture, a chain of 18 stores with more than 500 employees in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

During his 40-year career, he has served as CEO of the 13-store Bolton Furniture chain in Atlanta, and also was vice president of merchandising for Dublin, Ga.-based Farmers Furniture.

“Gene brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from retail and we are thrilled to have him on our team” said Keith Jackson, president of Jackson/Catnapper.  “We preach ‘continuous improvement’ in all facets of our organization, and are excited to tap into Gene’s unique ability to challenge us to think differently.”

Based in Cleveland, Tenn., the company produces motion furniture under the Catnapper brand and stationary upholstery under the Jackson name.

“I am extremely excited to be able to work with Jackson Furniture, such a fine manufacturer of American built furniture. I look forward to working with the executive team at Jackson and share my perspective on what it takes to win with today’s retailers,” said Stoltz.

Stoltz and his wife are in the process of relocating from Pennsylvania to Athens, Ga., in order to be closer to four of their children and their nine grandchildren.
