Utah-based bedding accessories resource Malouf has acquired more than 1 million square feet of warehouse space in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio.
The purchase included two warehouse buildings and a 125-acres site, the company said.
“Acquisition of the new property is key to helping us achieve some important growth goals,” said CEO Sam Malouf. “All of our current customers will continue to receive efficient shipping and exceptional order support. In addition, the new location will help us streamline distribution and warehouse operation to expand our private label enterprises.”
The new warehouse space allows Malouf to expand branded product lines to retail partners that want to promote unique brands and sleep product expertise to their specific customer bases, he explained.
“Over the last five years, we’ve launched successful private label programs with some of the biggest retailers in the industry,” added Vice President of Sales Mike Douglas. “As that becomes a bigger part of our business, we have to plan ahead to ensure distribution space and shipping efficiencies accommodate that growth.”
With the addition of the Ohio property, Malouf is expanding its warehouse holdings to 2.8 million square feet. The company’s strategically located distribution centers offer two-day ground shipping to 85 percent of the U.S. population.
