Kingsdown to Make Private-Label Line for Mattress Land

Mattress Land, a mattress specialty chain with 22 stores in four western states, has struck a deal with Kingsdown to manufacture its private-label SleepFit line.

The line, which includes 14 models, will be featured at all Mattress Land stores in California, Nevada, Washington and Idaho.

Kingsdown officials said the Kingsdown brand has been sold by Mattress Land since 2009, and the private-label program solidifies the partnership between the two companies.

“We are extremely excited about where the Kingsdown-built SleepFit will take us,” said James Smith, founder and CEO of Mattress Land. “SleepFit has become part of our DNA at Mattress Land, and every consumer who comes in the store to buy a mattress goes through the process of being fitted. Teaming up with Kingsdown and its focus on technology to help consumers find the right mattress makes perfect sense.”

The SleepFit beds will retail between $399 and $3,000. The collection features a selection of mattresses designed with pocketed-coil construction, upgraded knit covers and Serene foam. Each bed is designed to work with Mattress Land’s BedFit diagnostic system.

“The Mattress Land team understands the importance of marrying consumers with a mattress that will deliver proper support and a good night’s sleep,” said Kevin Damewood, Kingsdown’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re proud to have been selected to develop products for their proprietary SleepFit line.”
