Author Amy Flurry has announced a book launch event celebrating the publication of her new book, Recipe for Press: Designer Edition, on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in High Point, N.C.
Open to interior designers and other creative professionals, the daylong event includes an interactive workshop, lunch and an exclusive sample sale, located in the Zoe Bios Creative downtown showroom at 108 - 110 S. Elm St.
The cost is $75 and includes lunch and a copy of Recipe for Press: Designer Edition.
Flurry builds on the success of her first book, Recipe for Press, a guide to DIY PR for entrepreneurs and small businesses, by drawing on her expertise as a brand partner in the home decor and interior design sectors for her sequel.
To help navigate the new media landscape, Flurry shares the tools interior designers, architects, landscape planners and product designers need to master now in order to take advantage of available media opportunities.
“Designers have unique content to deliver to the media,” says Flurry. “With guidance, they can learn to become invaluable resources to the press,” she adds. “For the interior designer, successful editorial exposure helps to grow the client base and billings.”
Flurry will lead a morning workshop with insight on how to package a media pitch, and smart tactics for avoiding the most common mistakes. She will introduce the audience to the newly named editor in chief at Designers Today magazine, Jane Dagmi, and moderate a Q&A segment.
Following the workshop, Flurry will host a boxed lunch social, and sample and cash-and-carry sales from participating area showrooms, including Zoe Bios Creative, red egg and Schwung Home.
RSVP is required by Feb. 15. To register for the event go to http://bit.ly/2DXygbi
