Jordan’s Announces Employee Bonus at Ball Drop
January 18,
2018 by Larry Thomas in Business Strategy, Industry
Retailer Jordan’s Furniture said each of its full-time employees will receive a $3,300 bonus, announcing the award at an event that featured a 60,000 ping-pong-ball drop in the warehouse at its Taunton, Mass., headquarters.
The ball drop was simulcast to all six Jordan’s stores so that all employees could hear CEO Eliot Tatelman’s announcement at the same time.
The retailer said the Taunton employees were challenged to put the color-coded balls into large Plexiglas boxes, and said a member of the executive team was seated inside each box.
Tatelman emphasized that the bonuses were not paid because of the recent tax bill signed by President Trump, but were awarded due to the “extraordinary work and dedication” of his employees. He noted that employees received a $3,000 bonus last year.
