For Furniture of America, it will mark the opening of a 70,000 square-foot space that is one of the largest showrooms at market, while Vanguard, is opening a designer-oriented space that encompasses 3,250 square feet and will be open year-round.
Furniture of America will officially cut the ribbon on its space, B-1168, at 10 a.m. on the market’s opening day, Sunday, Jan. 28.
Vanguard’s showroom on the first floor of Building A will be open throughout market, but the grand opening party won’t take place until the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 30 in conjunction with other showrooms in the Las Vegas Design Center.
“It is unlike any other showroom in Las Vegas,” said Vanguard President Andy Bray. “We’ve designed it to be an upscale boutique experience to reflect how fashionable retailers and interior designers merchandise their wares. The showroom combines an unusual mix of technology, customization and fashion, akin to the challenges faced by purveyors with small footprints and big ideas.”
Vanguard shares showroom space with leading luxury bedding and accessories supplier Eastern Accents, allowing the two companies to cross-merchandise display vignettes that present merchandised furniture, decorative textiles and home accessories.
“Our collaboration with Eastern Accents in a combined showroom is unique. It allows us to showcase a complete look and makes it easier and more convenient for buyers to shop,” added Bray.
He said the showroom will feature technology like Vanguard’s innovative “Make it Yours” visualizer where each designer starts with a clean slate and creates a custom piece of case goods, available for delivery in about six weeks.
For Furniture of America, the new showroom represents a milestone for a company that opened its first Las Vegas Market showroom 10 years ago in 3,000 square feet.
“This is an incredible milestone and we are going to celebrate this special event with live music, a brunch bar with champagne, hors d'oeuvres and lots more,” said Rocky Young, senior vice president, noting that a number of special invitees and local dignitaries are scheduled to attend the gala event.
“The planned showroom expansion is just one of a number of adjustments we have been making to keep up with our ever growing customer needs,” said Michael Genrich, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We will be introducing a new 1,100-page catalog with hundreds of new items, including an expanded line of U.S.-made products. We are now able to display most of our full line of attractively priced furniture, and the increased showroom space will also help us share our marketing vision with our retail partners.”
Headquartered in City of Industry, Calif., the company has warehouses in Atlanta, Dallas, Fresno, Calif., Los Angeles, Secaucus, N.J., and a dedicated E-commerce division.
