Gjertsen Named Senior Upholstery Buyer at Star Furniture

Houston-based Star Furniture has named retail veteran Sharon Gjertsen as its new senior upholstery buyer.
Gjertsen had been senior upholstery buyer at Art Van Furniture since 2006, and earlier was vice president of merchandising for Kane’s Furniture.
In her new post, she will focus on all aspects of the upholstery category with keen attention to expanding the assortment of motion and stationary products while Star broadens its customer base. She also will work with vendors and internal staff to ensure successful execution and growth.
Gjertsen reports to Alan Kramer, vice president of merchandising.
