Online mattress retailer GhostBed said it has begun accepting payments with Bitcoin, becoming the first mattress retailer to accept the cryptocurrency.
The retailer said it has partnered with BitPay, a leader in blockchain technology, to process the transactions.
"I've always believed in making it easy for customers to do business with us," says Marc Werner, CEO and founder of GhostBed by Nature's Sleep. "Realizing the growth and acceptance of Bitcoin, I immediately wanted to take it on GhostBed.com. We were amazed when our first Bitcoin sale came in, just 15 minutes after we deployed it."
He said early results show that GhostBed's average sale is substantially higher when Bitcoin is used, inferring that owners of this cryptocurrency have seen huge gains with very limited venues accepting it.
Implementing a Bitcoin payment method also helps the company build brand loyalty, extends its customer base, and allows adopters of this technology to enjoy GhostBed products, said Werner.
GhostBed’s product line includes two mattress models, a foundation, an adjustable base, and a patent-pending pillow.
