Emerald to Launch Retail Stores in China

Full line furniture manufacturer and importer Emerald Home Furnishings said it plans to open 10 retail stores in China next year in partnership with a Chinese company.
The company said the stores will be freestanding facilities that feature living room, dining room, bedroom, occasional, outdoor, mattresses, and Emerald’s soon-to-be-launched youth bedroom category.
"We are working to create a partnership for a beautiful new retail environment, showcasing the finest quality of stylish home fashions for the discerning Chinese consumer," said David Beckmann, president of Emerald.
He said the China stores will open in mid-summer in Hangzhou or Shaoshing, with 10 stores planned in the first full year of operation. The company plans to develop a national network of stores, he added.
