Sandow Acquires 50% Ownership in Galerie Magazine

Adam Sandow, chairman and CEO of Sandow – a leader in design and luxury content and services - has announced his company’s 50% ownership in Galerie magazine and his equal partnership with founders James and Lisa Cohen.
Galerie, the quarterly art and design magazine launched in 2016 by Hudson Publishing, engages readers who have a passion for art and design. Its online and events platforms will add a new dimension to Sandow’s existing portfolio.
With the partnership, Sandow will provide full operational support to Galerie. Co-founder Lisa Cohen will continue in her current role as editorial director. Together, the leadership teams will maintain and enhance the brand’s positioning.
"I was drawn to Galerie because of the incredible brand that Lisa Cohen has built. She has identified an important niche at the intersection of art, design, and destinations. We are very excited about the opportunity to round out our design portfolio with Galerie and bring this beautiful title under the Sandow umbrella," said Sandow.
Margaret Russell, Galerie's editor-in-chief, will continue in her current position while focusing on other contributions to the design community, including her role as Honorary Dean of the School of Building Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Prior to joining Galerie, Russell served as vice president and editor-in-chief of Elle Décor and the editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest.
Launched in 2016, Galerie's demographic encompasses an average household income of $373,000 and a total distribution of 100,000. It is currently available at Hudson News locations worldwide, as well as select newsstands, private aviation terminals, and premier art and design events.

The portfolio also includes the newly launched beauty solutions company, Beauty Engine, innovative retail company, Fred Segal, and the global materials consultancy, Material ConneXion.
