Fabric supplier The Mitchell Group has added a high-performance faux leather upholstery fabric to its successful Sta-Kleen line that the company says is built to withstand heavy use without losing its luxurious texture and feel.
Called Sta-Kleen Polycarbonate, or Sta-Kleen PC, the new fabric is aimed at the healthcare, hospitality and contract markets.
“We have engineered Sta-Kleen PC with the highest quality polycarbonate resins,” said Bill Fisch, president of The Mitchell Group. “Overall, the fabric has outstanding strength, is abrasion and hydrolysis resistant. Moreover, its light fastness far exceeds the Association for Contract Textiles’ (ACT) performance standards for commercial grade upholstery.”
A beautiful fabric for hospitality and contract settings, he said the new product is tough enough for the most demanding healthcare applications. While the fabric tailors and cleans easily, as well, is exceptionally stain resistant, it can withstand the effects of commercial cleaners used in healthcare facilities and other commercial environments.
Equally important, Sta-Kleen PC is environmentally responsible, said Fisch. The fabric is VOC free, contains no polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticizers, phthalates, heavy metals, or stabilizers. Plus, it contains no chemical flame-retardants, or toxic by-products.
The fabric will initially be offered in five patterns: Donegal, a two tone weave pattern in 15 colors; Matrix, a linen look in 29 colors; Sammie, a solid pattern in 21 colors; Sawcut, a raw cut wood grain design in 19 colors; and Sparkle, a geometric pattern in 17 colors.
