La-Z-Boy Licensee to Open $8M Distribution Center in S.C.

Tipperary Sales, a La-Z-Boy licensee that operates eight La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores in the Southeast, will open a new distribution center in York County, South Carolina early next year.

The $8 million project also will include space for executive offices, a regional call center, and customer pick-up area.

“We are pleased that our company’s recent growth and continued success enabled us to embark upon this project in York County,” said Martha Brown, president and CEO of the licensee. “This facility will allow us to better service our existing eight locations across the southeast and position us for continued future growth. We look forward to working with and employing citizens of York County, who offer a variety of talents and capabilities that will encourage future accomplishments.”

At 126,360 square feet, the building will be nearly twice the size of the company’s current distribution center in in Richburg, S.C. It is being built in the Riverwalk Business Park in Rock Hill, S.C., and can be expanded to 182,520 square feet.

The new facility is scheduled to open in February.

“We were pleased to identify this location for La-Z-Boy Southeast,” said Byron Brown, partner and broker-in-charge at Caliber Partners. “With stores across the southeast and a growing interior design clientele, the proximity to the I-77 corridor will allow for more efficient inventory delivery services. The location will serve the business today and well into the future.”

The licensee currently operates two La-Z-Boy stores in Georgia, three in North Carolina, and three in South Carolina.
