Cost Plus Recalls Wood Outdoor Dining Chairs

Retailer Cost Plus World Market has recalled about 2,600 Girona outdoor dining chairs because the seat base can separate from the chair back, causing it to collapse.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, it has received two reports of display chairs collapsing in retail stores while being tested by consumers, and three additional reports of separation of the tenon joint between the chair’s back and seat.

The agency said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chairs and return them to any Cost Plus World Market or World Market store for a full refund.

The chairs made with a wood frame and flat-woven, weather-resistant wicker straps, and were sold in black or gray.

The chairs, which were produced in Vietnam, were sold at the retail stores and online between January and August 2017 for about $180.

Consumers can call Cost Plus toll-free at 877-967-5362 from 7 a.m. to midnight ET daily, or go online at www.worldmarket.com and click on “Product Recalls” for more information.
