The event, dubbed High Tea and Talk, will feature an educational seminar called “Courting the Small Space Client: Design Tips for Growing a Key Demographic, ” and focus on the rapid rise of small space living.
“People are learning that living with less doesn’t mean living without luxury,” Langdon said, making Spectra Home the ideal showroom for her seminar.
The designer-friendly line offers a luxurious look and feel typically associated with specialty retailers and catalog houses without the outrageous price tags.
“Based on my near-daily conversations with consumers across the country, I’m looking forward to talking with designers about the misconceptions surrounding small-space dwellers (hint: they don’t live solely in urban areas), and what shoppers and clients are really looking for now, as well as the best ways to design for their needs,” Langdon said.
Open to retailers, designers and the media, the event celebrates the pending merger of leather specialist Palatial Furniture with the upholstered furniture house.
“We know many designers come to High Point not only to shop for great product, but also to take advantage of the numerous educational opportunities here,” said Spectra Home president John Hoff. “We’re thrilled to honor our customers by sponsoring this special event and to introduce Spectra Home to a new generation of designers by engaging a speaker of Libby Langdon’s caliber.”
Event attendees will enjoy afternoon tea in the Spectra Home Showroom in the Commerce & Design building, space 6E. Reservations are not necessary, but seating is limited.
