Alden Parkes To Host Five CEU-Accredited Seminars at HP Market

High-end furniture manufacturer Alden Parkes will present five CEU-accredited workshops co-sponsored by International Market Centers (IMC) at the upcoming High Point Market, Oct. 14-17.

The seminars will cover everything from future trends to profitable business practices and will take place in the seminar room and designers’ lounge at the Alden Parkes Showroom in the South Court of 200 Hamilton.

Seminars will include:

·Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. - Get Published: Insights from a Home & Design Editor.  Getting your new interior design project published is easier than you think.  Patricia Sheridan, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's home & design editor, shares insider secrets on how to get your design projects in the pages of newspapers, magazines and syndicated nationwide. She will explain how editors choose projects, what imagery catches their eye, and how to pitch and follow up with an editor, leaving you with the tools you need to pitch your next project to an editor in your area. ·Saturday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. - The Best Decorating Trend Is Profitability. The interior design business is full of color, pattern, and beauty but too many designers aren’t paying attention to the most important part of their business: profitability.  In this information-packed and lively talk, designer Billy Ceglia talks about how he turned things around by focusing on return on investment and profit margins as much as on fabrics and furnishings.  Billy provides easy-to-follow tips for how designers can refocus their businesses for success.
