Author Saxon Henry will moderate a panel during the High Point Market next month to discuss how arbiters of taste in home and fashion design think about trends in textiles.
The event will take place in the new Henredon showroom, #500 on the 5th floor of the Market Square building, from 2:30 – 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14.
Panelists include: Mark Badgley and James Mischka, founders of the fashion house Badgley Mischka and Badgley Mischka Home; Krissa Rossbund, senior style editor of Traditional Home; Thimo Schwenzfeier, director of marketing and communications for Heimtextil, Messe Frankfurt; Skip Rumley, vice president and creative director of Heritage Home Group; and Bruce Andrews, chief creative officer of Bruce Andrews Design.
Prior to the panel discussion, Andrews and Rumley will conduct a preview of the Park Avenue Collection, designed by Andrews for Henredon, from 2:30 – 3 p.m. The collection will serve as visual inspiration for several points that will be explored.
Badgley and Mischka will explore trends relating to the moments when fashion and home decor intersect.
Schwenzfeier will discuss far-reaching global trends in textiles identified by the trend-table team of internationally acclaimed forecasting agencies who present their predictions during Heimtextil each year.
Rossbund will highlight tendencies she’s seeing in the home design arena as she produces lifestyle stories for Traditional Home.
Rumley will illustrate how he and Andrews worked in concert to source fabrics for the Park Avenue Collection.
The panel discussion begins at 3 p.m.
