Legends Hires Designer Stephanie Lena, Launches 3 Collections

Case goods manufacturer and importer Legends Furniture has hired veteran furniture designer Stephanie Lena as director of merchandising and product development, and will unveil three collections designed by her at next month’s High Point Market.

The company said Lena, whose career includes designing for HGTV Home Furniture, Aspenhome, and most recently Somerton Dwelling, developed the new collections to appeal to a specific type of consumer by focusing on their aspirations and style preferences. They feature dining room, bedroom, entertainment and accent pieces.

“These fresh styles resonate with today’s consumers,” said Tim Donk, director of marketing and business development. “The new collections inspire them with the confidence to build a room or to mix and match, depending on how they choose to live. We’re giving them ‘permission to play’.”

The three collections include, South Loop a transitional collection with rich walnut wood tones, integrating soft shapes and traditional elements into accessible elegance; Crosby Street, the most contemporary of the three, distinguished by a matte finish, straight lines and asymmetric angles; and Hideaway, a casual, rustic collection featuring dry finishes, distressing, and planking.

“We’re showing our retail partners an exciting new side of Legends, and hope to attract customers who might not have noticed us before, or had pigeonholed us as an entertainment resource,” said Donk.

The new collections will be included in Legends new showroom, space C-601 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
