IFD Moves to Larger HP Showroom, Expands Chicago Warehouse

Case goods producer International Furniture Direct is moving to a new, larger showroom in time for next month’s High Point Market.

At 15,000 square feet, the new showroom in space C-607 of the International Home Furnishings Center is about 75% larger than its former exhibit space in the IHFC Hamilton wing.

Diana Zaldivar, IFD’s vice president of sales and merchandising, said the new location will offer easy access for dealers and allow the company to display a much larger product selection.

“This new space offers our dealers better visibility of our collections that are driving sales increases, and at the same time the opportunity to see our new introduction assortment,” said Zaldivar.

The new showroom includes a custom bar, kitchen and front desk, as well as antique brick facades on selected walls.

In addition to the showroom expansion, she said IFD recently moved to a larger warehouse in Chicago. The new facility has 11 receiving docks, which will allow it to double the number of truckloads it gets each week from the company’s three factories in Mexico.

Coupled with other warehouse productivity improvements, the new warehouse should improve shipping times to dealers, she said.

IFD also has warehouses in Atlanta, Houston and Phoenix.
