Online Mattress Producer Purple Expands into Canada

Purple, a fast-growing online mattress producer whose mattresses use a patented Hyper-Elastic Polymer, is now shipping its products into Canada – the company’s first international expansion.
The company said its full line of mattresses, pillows, mattress protectors and other sleep accessories are now available for shipment to Canada at no extra charge.
“A good night’s sleep is a universal need, and Purple is determined to meet the global demand for our quality sleep products,” said Sam Bernards, CEO of Purple. “We’re excited to extend the availability of our products to Canada and solve the problem of uncomfortable sleep for our neighbors to the north.”
In conjunction with the launch, Purple has announced an exclusive “back-to-school” promotion for Canadian consumers. While supplies last, customers can get C$125 off a platform base when they buy a mattress and base together.
The company will also offer free shipping as well as its product warranties, including the 100-night trial for its mattress and pillow.
Purple recently signed a letter of intent to merge with Global Partner Acquisition Corp., a move that would, in effect, make Purple a public company. The proposed deal gives Purple an enterprise value of $1.1 billion.
The company has told investors it had sales of more than $50 million last year, and is on a “run rate” of $187 million in sales for this year, based on second quarter numbers.
