NYC Bo Concept Store Being Converted to Calligaris, Camerich

Niki and Shaokao Cheng, the husband-and-wife design team who have operated Bo Concept franchise stores in New York City for 14 years, are converting a store in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan into stand-alone units for the high-end Calligaris and Camerich brands.

It will be the couple’s third Calligaris store and first Camerich store in New York. Both are slated to open Sept. 1.

“We are thrilled to further expand the Calligaris brand in New York. It is known for affordable, classic Italian modern design with many pieces available for quick delivery from our warehouse,” said Niki Cheng. “Camerich offers global modernism with purity of form made with quality materials that last; the pieces reflect design trends with subtlety, giving them a timeless aesthetic.”

Earlier this year the Chengs opened Calligaris stores in the Soho neighborhood and on the Upper East Side.

They said the Chelsea neighborhood, with its roots in art and design, was the next logical step for their planned expansion of the Calligaris brand and debut of Camerich. The new 4,000 square-foot Calligaris store will offer time tested designs from its 90-year history to the newest, innovative, functional, and customizable designs, while the adjoining 2,500 square-foot Camerich showroom will introduce New Yorkers to the innovative design aesthetic of the globally renowned company.

The couple said the bright and loftlike showrooms present the two brands in a gallerylike atmosphere coupled with warm, personalized interior design services.
