RH Recalls Bedroom, Occasional Pieces Due to Injury Risk

Restoration Hardware (NYSE: RH) has recalled its Smythson Shagreen Collection of bedroom and occasional furniture because the metal trim on the furniture can detach from the edges and create sharp points.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said RH had received 29 reports of the metal detaching, which has resulted in three puncture wounds and one abrasion.

The recall involves about 9,400 coffee tables, side tables, dressers, beds, nightstands and sideboards that were made in Vietnam and sold between December 2015 and June 2017 at RH outlet stores and the retailer’s website.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled furniture and contact RH for a full refund, or a free replacement product of similar value, plus free pickup of the recalled item.

Consumers may contact RH 888-728-8419 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT Monday through Saturday, email at recall@rh.com or online at www.rh.com and click “Safety Recalls” for more information.

A complete list of the affected pieces and model numbers also can be found here.
